Starting out her career in the entertainment industry working for several major film festivals, Mara had the opportunity to learn from some of the best interviewers and hosts through events she was producing before finding her own passion in moderating and hosting discussions. Following hosting numerous film festival Q&A’s, her first foray into long form moderating was with Gillian Anderson and Jennifer Nadel for their book We: A Manifesto for Women Everywhere as part of a Tribeca event in conjunction with UN Women’s HeforShe campaign. From there she has gone on to lead hundreds of discussions with filmmakers, actors, comedians, hosts, behind the scenes artisans and many more.

During the pandemic she launched In Creative Company alongside Liz Riesterer which is a longform video interview series focused on creative discussions driven by craft and process which strives from her passion in elevating and supporting the work of creatives inthe industry.
