Starting out her career in the entertainment industry working for several major film festivals, Mara had the opportunity to learn from some of the best interviewers and hosts through events she was producing before finding her own passion in moderating and hosting discussions.

Following hosting numerous film festival Q&A’s, her first foray into long form moderating was with Gillian Anderson and Jennifer Nadel for their book We: A Manifesto for Women Everywhere as part of a Tribeca Festival event in conjunction with UN Women’s HeforShe campaign. From there she has gone on to lead hundreds of discussions with filmmakers, actors, comedians, hosts, behind the scenes artisans and many more. She has interviewed several thousand people in the entertainment industry along the way.

During the pandemic she launched In Creative Company hosting over 1300 video interviews focused on creative discussions driven by craft and process ,which strives from her passion in elevating and supporting the work of creatives in the entertainment industry.

Following this she recently launched a solo endeavour, Welcome to the Stage which she hosts which includes long form interviewing, red carpet interviews and event producing behind the scenes.
